Finances
Finances were an important consideration when deciding to undertake the Drive-In outreach ministry, but the congregation at Fifth Reformed Church eagerly accepted this responsibility. Before the end of the first year, to everyone’s surprise and delight, the Drive-In became self-supporting.
This was the beginning of a pattern that has continued to this day. Whenever we have had a need, the Lord has provided through the gracious gifts of those who attend the Drive-In Church. We are also in the budget of Fifth Reformed Church, though there have been many years in which the task force did not find it necessary to ask for the allotted amount. The ongoing expenses of the church—a budget of up to $35,000 per year—are normally met by the weekly contributions of our attendees, who faithfully every Sunday give their donation envelopes to the greeters as they leave.
In this entire ministry, one motto summarizes it all: “To the glory of God, our Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier.”
