Dear Pastor,
Greetings to you in the name of Christ, our King.
We were unable to get a letter out to you in October, but we plan to be more regular from here on in keeping you aware of the services we provide for Gods people.
One of the questions most frequently asked of the Woodland Drive-In Church is whether we have services in the winter and if so, how we do that. Yes, even though we live in Michigan, we have services year round. Those who come during the winter do not hesitate to turn on their car engines occasionally during the service to warm up their vehicles. I get used to hearing car engines run as I am speaking to them. Some of the people who frequently visit the Woodland Drive-In Church during the winter are those who are afraid of slipping on ice while walking from a parking lot to a church building. They feel safer as long as they can stay in their cars. There are some people whom we see only during the winter!
Always remember that the Woodland Drive-In Church is a service church. We do not hold membership papers, and we never intend to. We see ourselves as a service church in the greater Grand Rapids area, ministering particularly on Sunday to a group of people who might not otherwise be able to attend a worship service. We are excited about those who come, and we
are happy if their circumstances change so that they can return to their own church or if they perhaps reach a point where they want to join a traditional church.
Enclosed with this letter is a brochure of the Woodland Drive-In Church. Feel free to give this to anyone in your congregation whom you think might benefit from our services. If you would like more, you can contact me at 698-3471 during the day or at 235-2871 in evenings or on weekends. We would be pleased to send you as many as you want.
Sincerely,
Verlyn D. Verbrugge
